Changes to Federal OSHA's Recordkeeping Rule
|
The U.S. Department of Labor announced on July 2, 2001, that Federal OSHA's rule on record-keeping will, for the most part, go into effect as scheduled on January 1, 2002. The rule was among those delayed by the Bush administration's initial regulatory freeze. It will revise requirements largely unchanged since the 1970s. The rule will increase employee involvement, create simpler forms, and give employers more flexibility in using computers to meet OSHA requirements. It will change the way some 1.3 million worksites are required to record their employees' injuries and illnesses. |
