Drive to Arrive

The goal of the Drive to Arrive campaign, a multi-year partnership between the City of Sioux Falls and the South Dakota Safety Council, is to make Sioux Falls a safer place to live. It focuses on:
  • road rage, impaired driving, safety belt use and speed
  • driver behavior at intersections and pedestrian safety

Through public announcements, posters, billboards and other methods, Drive to Arrive draws attention to simple steps that can make roads safer and friendlier. It challenges people to buckle up, drive sober, drive courteously and keep their cool.

The cost of traffic injuries is high, both at human suffering and in dollars. Based on National Safety Council estimates, the cost of last year's 1,201 traffic-related injuries in Sioux Falls is estimated at a minimum of $17,774,800.
