Bike Helmets: Use Your Head to Protect Your Body!

Whether you ride your bike for recreation or transportation, you should wear a helmet. While helmets can't prevent crashes and falls, they do help reduce the risk of head injury and long term brain damage by up to 88%. In fact, if all bicyclists wore helmets, one death could be prevented every day and one head injury would be prevented every four minutes.

The South Dakota Safety Council distributes lightweight ProRider helmets which meet ASTM, ANSI and CPSC approved safety standards. Extra sizing pads are included to ensure a proper fit. Helmets may be ordered for individuals, or for schools, businesses, groups and clubs. If you would like more information on our group purchase program, call the South Dakota Safety Council at 605-361-7785 or 1-800-952-5539.
