Celebrate Safety!
Every year, the South Dakota Safety Council – and our partners – recognize and celebrate employers throughout the State of South Dakota for safety and health excellence in protecting our workforce from injuries, illnesses and incidents. To be considered for a South Dakota Governor’s Workplace Safety Award, an organization must submit an application that includes general information regarding the employer’s organization, elements of the employer’s safety/health management systems and the injury/illness information for the previous three (3) years. This application opens annually, in June.
- The application for the 2025 calendar year closes at 6:00 pm CST on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications may not be modified or otherwise revised after the application deadline.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete their applications thoughtfully and deliberately when applying.
