OSHA Recordkeeping: Injuries and Illnesses-Virtual

Recordkeeping requirements under 29 CFR 1904 are intended to ensure that employers are transparent with their employees about the injuries and illnesses experienced within their workplace. This concept may appear quite simple on the surface, but is found by many employers to be quite complicated as they dig a little deeper. This virtual session will focus on the fundamentals of OSHA Recordkeeping, including how it differs from workers compensation, general requirements, and Minnesota specific requirements. Participants will have opportunities to discuss challenging cases with peers, and even work through some interesting real-life scenarios! Topics include:
  • Records to be maintained
  • Criteria of an “OSHA recordable” injury
  • Disclosure requirements and privacy cases
  • Training requirements
  • Anti-discrimination provisions
  • Reporting to OSHA

Virtual Instructor Led Training Requirements:

Students are required to have video and audio capability and must remain visible to the instructor and facilitator throughout the class. Additionally, students may not use a phone to participate in the training or view the presentation. Students who are unable to meet these requirements will not be permitted to attend.
